Playlist for Good Morning Folk for 10/10/2003 This week the 2 feature Cds are again both Canadian. Both come from Borealis Records The first one is by Bill Garrett and Sue Lothrop with the title Red Shoes. A finely crafted CD with great vocals. The instrumentation is kept simple so it will not interfere with the lyrics. The second one is by Le Vent du Nord called Maudite Moisson! This CD is all in French with mostly traditional songs and instrumentals. The instrumentals in particular want you to get up and dance. For those who love Matapat try this one.\ As usual I played for tracks of each CD Red Shoes: 1 No More Fish 2 Red Shoes 3 Leaving Louisiana 4 St John's Waltz Maudite Moisson 1 Au Bord de la Fontaine 2 La Chanson d'hortense/Gigue des Militaires 3 Les Trois Frères Roy 4 Suite de Virginie Borealis can be contacted by via the website www.borealisrecords.com For the remainder of the programme: Artist, Song, Album, Label, * Australian, # available from www.folktrax.com 1 Merrilyn Simmons*, A Message from the woman in the lake, Smiling at strangers, Own # 2 Wheelers and Dealers*, The Blacksmith, Wheelers and Dealers, Own, # 3 Margaret Walters*, Windsong, Power in a song, Feathers and Wedge, # 4 Maurie Mulheron*, Right that Time, With These Arms, MUA.
