Playlist for Good Morning Folk for 26/9/2003 The 2 feature CDs this week are Guide Cats for the blind and A'The Bairns O Dram, a tribute Album for Hamish Henderson. As always I played 4 tracks of each CD Guide Cats for the Blind. The poems and songs of Les Barker recited and sung by a number of actors, presenters and singers. The double CD is released on the Osmosys label and a donation from the sales of the CD will go to The British Computer Association of the blind. From it I played 1 Sarah Kennedy, Sprouts ( a poem to my liking as I also have dislike of sprouts) 2 Nonny James, Nobody hugs a hedgehog 3 Roy Hudd, An infinite number of occasional tables 4 Genevieve Tudor, Everything glows. Hamish Henderson , a tribute album A' The Bairns O Adam. The CD is released by Greentrax and is a powerful tribute to his work. A number of artists worked on this CD and some historical tracks were taken from The the school of Scottish studies. I played 1 Rod Patterson, Ballad of the D-Day Dodgers 2 Hamish Henderson, The 51st Highland Division's Farewell to Sicily 3 Geordie McIntyre, The Ballad of the men of Knoydart 4 Jim Reid, The freedom Come-all-ye The remainder of the programme was a departure for me in that the music used was leaning more towards the Bluegrass/Country and old Timey Music.
